ChoosingWhere should I start?+
Start with the surface: vehicle glass, building glass, paint or another coated material. Then choose your priority—comfort, privacy, appearance or surface protection. An installer can confirm the product and application.
ChoosingCan I buy film directly as a vehicle or property owner?+
HITEK’s public pages help you compare products. Use Find an Installer for a fitted quote. Dealer ordering and current availability remain in the HITEK dealer store.
ChoosingAre the finish images exact samples?+
The images are illustrative previews of the intended appearance. Shade, glass, paint, lighting and viewing angle change the result. Review a physical sample with your installer before choosing.
AutomotiveDoes darker tint always reject more heat?+
Shade and heat performance are different properties. Compare the published performance for the exact film and shade. Visible light transmission describes brightness; it does not measure total heat rejection.
AutomotiveWhat does VLT mean?+
Visible light transmission is the percentage of visible light that passes through the tested film or glass and film combination. A lower percentage means less light passes through. The installed result can differ from the film’s listed value.
AutomotiveWhich shade should I choose?+
Compare daylight appearance and nighttime visibility with your installer. Confirm the current tint rules for your vehicle, location and window positions before installation.
AutomotiveWhat is the difference between carbon and ceramic film?+
These names describe different film constructions. They do not establish a universal performance ranking. Compare each product’s technology and shade-specific published measurements.
ArchitecturalWhat is a dual-reflective film?+
Dual-reflective films are designed with different reflective characteristics on their two faces. Ceramic DR and Carbon DR combine a more reflective exterior appearance with a less reflective room-side view. The actual result depends on shade, glass and lighting.
ArchitecturalWill reflective film give privacy at night?+
Reflective privacy depends on the brighter side of the glass. When the room is brighter than outdoors, people may see inside. Use an appropriate window covering or privacy film when privacy is needed after dark. Check a sample under the actual lighting; frosted film may still show silhouettes.
ArchitecturalDoes clear film still change the view?+
A clear or lightly tinted film can preserve much of the view, but no photograph guarantees an invisible result. Check a physical sample on the actual glass for color, reflection and light transmission.
ArchitecturalCan film be installed on any glass?+
An installer must check the glass type, coatings, condition, orientation and film-to-glass compatibility. Exterior products and interior products have different application requirements. A film that works on one type of window may not suit another.
ArchitecturalDo security films make glass unbreakable?+
No. Safety and security films can help hold fragments together when glass breaks. Performance depends on the complete glass, film and attachment system. Specific forced-entry claims require system-specific evidence.
ArchitecturalHow do Black Out, White Out and White Frost differ?+
Black Out and White Out create opaque visual separation with different colors. White Frost creates a translucent, diffused finish. They are appearance choices with different effects on light and visibility; confirm the selected film’s specifications.
PPFHow do gloss and matte PPF look?+
Clear gloss preserves a reflective painted appearance. Clear matte changes reflected highlights into a softer satin or matte look. PPF Pro also offers black finishes. Check a sample on your paint before choosing.
PPFIs PPF the same as a ceramic coating?+
PPF is a physical film applied over suitable surfaces. A ceramic coating is a thin surface treatment used for properties such as water repellency and easier cleaning. They address different needs and may be combined when the products are compatible.
PPFDoes every HITEK PPF have a ten-year warranty?+
No. The published limited warranty is ten years for PPF Ultra and PPF Pro, while PPF Core lists eight years of limited material coverage. Eligibility and exclusions follow the applicable written warranty.
PPFDoes self-healing mean scratches cannot damage PPF?+
No. Where specified, self-healing concerns certain light surface marks under suitable conditions. Cuts, deep scratches, impacts and other damage may remain. Follow the selected product’s care instructions.
CoatingsWhich coating is right for my surface?+
Choose by material first. HITEK has separate products for paint, trim, interiors, glass, PPF and marine/RV surfaces. Do not substitute a product solely because its advertised durability is longer.
CoatingsIs advertised durability the warranty period?+
No. A durability estimate describes expected service life under stated conditions. Limited warranty coverage has separate terms and requirements. Each product page separates the two.
CoatingsDo coated surfaces still need washing?+
Yes. Coatings help make care easier; they do not eliminate maintenance. Use the product’s approved cleaning method and remove contaminants promptly.
WarrantyHow do I register an installation?+
Open the HITEK warranty center and follow its registration steps. Have your installer, owner, vehicle or project, product and installation records ready. Keep the issued warranty with your invoice.
WarrantyHow do I start a warranty claim?+
Contact the installing dealer first. Have your invoice, issued warranty, clear photographs and a description of the concern ready. If the dealer is unavailable, contact WarrantyDepartment@HiTekFilms.com. Obtain approval before warranty work begins.
WarrantyCan a warranty transfer to a new owner?+
Transfer rights depend on the product and the warranty issued for that installation. Review your record before using the transfer center. A transfer does not automatically create a new full warranty term.
WarrantyWhich terms apply to my installation?+
Your issued written warranty controls. Automotive program information on this design preview is still awaiting final wording and an effective date; it does not replace or amend warranties already issued.
CareWhen can I clean a newly installed product?+
Cure and waiting times vary by film, coating, substrate and conditions. Follow the written instructions from your installer for rolling down windows, washing, water exposure and cleaning.
CareHow should I report an appearance concern?+
Keep your installation records and take clear photos in consistent lighting. Contact your installer before attempting removal, polishing or chemical treatment so the cause and next steps can be assessed.
DealersHow do I become a HITEK dealer?+
Use the dealer application to tell HITEK about your shop and services. The team can explain account requirements, product access and available marketing support.
DealersWhere do I find pricing, tools and available roll sizes?+
Sign in to the HITEK dealer store for current pricing, availability and order options. Product pages on this preview provide selection guidance; the store confirms the order.
